Detailed guide for gua sha facial massage:
Preparation:
- Always apply facial oil first for slip
- Hold tool at approximately 15-30 degree angle
- Use gentle to medium pressure (never painful)
- Repeat each movement 3-5 times per area
- Direction is always outward and upward
Neck:
- Start at center front of neck
- Sweep upward toward ears
- Medium pressure
- Follow lymph pathways up sides of neck
Jaw & Chin:
- Begin at center of chin
- Stroke outward along jawline to ears
- Use medium pressure with slight wiggling motion
- Extra attention on jaw tension points
Cheeks:
- Start from nose
- Sweep outward toward hairline
- Gentle pressure on softer tissue
- Follow cheekbone structure
Under Eyes:
- Very gentle pressure
- Start from inner corner
- Sweep toward temples
- Use lighter edge of tool
Forehead:
- Begin between eyebrows
- Stroke outward toward temples
- Then sweep upward toward hairline
- Medium pressure
Temples:
- Small circular motions
- Gentle pressure
- Work in small sections
- Can hold and press gently
Key Tips:
- Never drag or pull skin
- If you see redness, reduce pressure
- Each area should take about 30 seconds
- Total routine: 5-10 minutes
- Listen to your skin's tolerance
- Stay hydrated before/after
NB the intensite applied to the skin, has to be what is comfortable to the user, check the different pressures and adjust accordingly o attain appropriate level of pressure
